REVIEW: The Lamb
Review by- “Scratchy” Pete Ellott
This one’s from Director Shawn Burkett and Concept Media. A new short film delivered in 2016 that makes a nice little imprint on a well-trodden path.
Religion, cults and deciphering sparse information leads the viewer on a trail of discovery.
Emerging slowly. It grows and forces the viewer to grow right along with it in its short run time.
It can do nothing else than hold your attention despite its seemingly slow burn (at times) questioning.
Intentional. Making the climax all the more satisfying.
But not hard to pick for the seasoned viewer.

A bloody awakening.
Realisation.

“Everything went black.”
Detective Matthews and Sarah Combs work through the clues and the mystery in this slow reveal. Payton Krebs plays her role very well.
The cinematography and overall look of the film is both professional and well shot. Clear and well edited. A good use of subtle effects – never trying to outdo itself.
Remaining simple and true to itself and the story that it allows unfold.
One cannot help but feel this is a nice little “statement” from Shawn to all the non-believers of his upcoming instalment entitled “Don’t Fuck in the Woods”…
Saying yeah, I can deliver and deliver well.
Star of one of our most popular TV soaps, Emmerdale, Dominic Brunt is known in every household here in the UK. On top of this, he's also forging quite a reputation as one of the best indie horror filmmakers in Britain - his directorial debut feature, Before Dawn, was very well received upon its release in 2013 and more recently his second feature, Bait, has accumulated plenty of critical acclaim worldwide.
