Dark Arts Doodles
Hello my name is Stephen and I’m an artist from Liverpool UK. I go by the name of Folklore, which I can assure you isn’t me trying to be trendy or stylish, but it was a way for me to become invisible as a person.
You see, I lack in confidence and have great difficulty in showing anything I create. I don’t have a specific style or flair for anything in particular, so most of the pieces I scribble are a cross between surreal cartoons, caricature and dark illustration. I’m definitely more suited in the underground scene and fully acknowledge that my work isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I’ve struggled for years internally plucking the courage to fully showcase anything, but thought it was now or never!
Inspired by my love of horror, film and pop-culture I’ve coined the title ‘Dark Arts Doodles’. Most of the work I create is light-hearted doodles of my favourite characters and films, but every once in a while I’ll sketch a more serious piece depending were my head-space is.
I’m very serious about my work and would love people to enjoy it as much as I like creating it. I’m stepping out into the world for the first time with my art in the hope that people may view it, understand it and hopefully want to purchase one.
I’m open to doing commission work, custom pieces, unorthodox tattoo flash and possibly a comic book with the right person.
I will be exhibiting some of my work at HorrorCon UK on the 9/10th July in Sheffield and I’m also in the process of exhibiting some at various other venues across the Liverpool area TBA.
For every piece I sell a donation will be made to the wonderful charity ‘Mind.Org.UK’, supporting people with Mental Health.
I thank you so much in taking the time out to view my doodles.

Star of one of our most popular TV soaps, Emmerdale, Dominic Brunt is known in every household here in the UK. On top of this, he's also forging quite a reputation as one of the best indie horror filmmakers in Britain - his directorial debut feature, Before Dawn, was very well received upon its release in 2013 and more recently his second feature, Bait, has accumulated plenty of critical acclaim worldwide.
