In late 2013, cousins ‘The Blue Took’ and ‘Folklore’ decided to create a website that was connected to the city in which they were born, raised and still reside – Liverpool, UK.

There were thousands of film and horror websites, but nothing that was connected to Merseyside which brought the intelligence, integrity and humour of the city.

After a lot of research, advice and late nights, The Slaughtered Bird was born in January 2014, after a brief stint as a free site.

We are extremely fortunate to have a team of exciting guest writers alongside us and work closely with a lot of talented people from across the globe. We have a fantastic following, which is growing all the time, and new writers joining us. We have branched out onto the convention circuit, film production, and have more exciting things lined up.

The Slaughtered Bird is going from strength to strength, so a massive THANK YOU to all our family, friends and fans who support us. Why don’t you become a part of it?
