Cathedrals will fall, the river will run red... and THE BIRD will be SLAUGHTERED!

Actress Tristan Risk - WiHM

Women In Horror Month 2016

We’re asking our favorite Horror Icons three specific questions:
Why Film? What’s been their favorite project to-date? And what we’ll be looking forward to next…

Actress Tristan Risk.

When we first started The Slaughtered Bird back in December 2013 and began speaking to heroes within our beloved genre, one of the first names we knew we MUST grab some time with was stunning actress Tristan Risk.

Nailing roles in films such as The Editor, American Mary, Call Girl and House Of Manson has propelled her into the upper echelons of the Indie Horror Hall Of Fame.

Thankfully, again, Miss Risk managed to spare us a few moments, this time as part of our Women In Horror Month feature…

Get to know a bit more about the lady helping shape the face of Horror as we know it:

SB: Why film?

TR: We are visual creatures and storytellers. We now live in an age where we best communicate in moving pictures. If you write a blog or record a vlog, more people will likely watch the visuals as to have the association with the person behind the words versus read the printed page. Film also allows us to create worlds and draw others into them and engulf them. I want to create my own dimensions and realities and whether they are scary or fantastic, I want to give people that little tiny slice of escape, and maybe plant some seeds in their own imagination to inspire them to create their own.

SB: Your favorite project to-date?

TR: That’s like asking me which of my snakes is my favourite… how can I choose? I have enjoyed American Mary, ABCs of Death 2, Frankenstein Created Bikers, Innsmouth and Madre De Dios, all for different reasons, but I think those films will really stick in peoples craws… er, I mean minds. I meant to write ‘minds’.

SB: What’s next on the horizon?

TR: Touring with my circus The Caravan Of Creeps and showing people the joys of my weird and talented crew, directing a short film based on a story I wrote, Elias Ganster’s Ayla, and continuing to write weird things that come out of my grey matter.

INTERVIEW: Uwe Boll
uwebolljpg-64b556_1280w Director Uwe Boll shouldn’t need much of an introduction to film fans. Quite the controversial figure, it seems if he’s not making films that divide opinion, he’s pissing off the people that are. I was privileged enough to speak to Uwe recently and, well, I’ll let you decide if he’s the contentious character you may think he is… Read on...
