‘Kreepazoid’ Kelly - WiHM
Women In Horror Month 2016
We’re asking our favorite Horror Icons three specific questions:
Why Film? What’s been their favorite project to-date? And what we’ll be looking forward to next…
‘Kreepazoid’ Kelly.
We’re massive ‘Kreepazoid’ admirers here at The Slaughtered Bird. Being a huge promoter of the indie horror world herself, the lovely lady has remained a loyal supporter of what we’re trying to do ever since we met and chatted 2 years ago - becoming an honorary #SlaughteredBird Sister in the process!
From Alternative/Horror model, to special effects creator, to radio show host, Kelly has achieved some amazing things in her career so far. However, the last few years have set Kelly some of the toughest challenges conceivable, and we’re deeply touched she’s decided to speak about them for our Women In Horror Month feature…
SB: Why film?
KK: I’m really into creating the scene. The stuff that makes you go “GROSS! I WANT MORE!” My passion is Special Effects. I’m highly influenced by Tom Savini, Bob A. Mattey, and Peter Jackson. Don’t get me wrong I’m not against CGI but nothing interests me more than good old fashioned Monster Making and creating a Gore Fest. My FX have been featured on DVD covers, used in indie horror Films, flyers for horror and fetish conventions, music album covers, and in some photo shoots I’ve done as an Alternative Model.

SB: Your favorite project to-date?
KK: It would have to be “The Body Parts” shoot. The photographer’s name is Charles Williams and the goal was to create something macabre to add to his portfolio, so I made an arm, leg, brain, ear, and a finger. I then mixed up a batch of my “special blood recipe”. I was the model. The shoot was so fun!! Basically I got to play in gore. We did several different scenarios and the photos were used for several different projects by many companies.
SB: What’s next on the horizon?
KK: I recently had brain surgery. I had a brain tumor removed and went through a lot of radiation treatments. It was my 2nd time so I’m very limited on what I can/can’t do. I hope to bring awareness to a very serious cause. BRAIN TUMOR AWARENESS MONTH IS IN MAY - “I WEAR GREY IN MAY”. I am a SURVIVOR, a WARRIOR, and I am CANCER FREE!
Now I am strictly a fan of the wonderful world of horror and I always will be! 😉

Star of one of our most popular TV soaps, Emmerdale, Dominic Brunt is known in every household here in the UK. On top of this, he's also forging quite a reputation as one of the best indie horror filmmakers in Britain - his directorial debut feature, Before Dawn, was very well received upon its release in 2013 and more recently his second feature, Bait, has accumulated plenty of critical acclaim worldwide.
