Long Gone
New startup Zamboni Productions is raising funds via a crowdfunding campaign to produce their short horror film, Long Gone.
The company set out to raise £2,750 to produce the film, which will showcase a full company of talented cast and crew exclusively from the North-East of England. Zamboni hope to exhibit their finished film at film festivals throughout the world.
The crew is comprised of Northumbrian filmmaker and director Dan Douglas, based in Newcastle, producer Kate McCheyne from Cullercoats, award winning filmmaker and director of photography Euan Preston, based in Morpeth. Music by local Sunderland star Paul Liddell, score by young Tynemouth composer Ed Rowntree, and artwork by Whitley Bay local Chris Bishop.

The talented cast is comprised of local actor Drew Horsley, comedienne Hannah Walker, actor and voice over artist Gareth Lilley, actor and novelist Rod Glenn and Whitley Bay’s Jessica Johnson, who has recently returned from a one month run in New York City alongside producer, Kate McCheyne.
Long Gone will be shot on location in the North-East and edited in Newcastle, shot exclusively at a secret and secluded location in the Chathill area of Northumberland and set in the fictional Northumbrian village of Fenningbury.
Zamboni Productions was created when director, Dan Douglas, decided to take a chance on a film idea he had and joined forces with producer, Kate McCheyne and writer, Martyn Armstrong. Douglas and McCheyne are working together for the first time and are putting all of their efforts into making this short film something to be excited about.
Kate: “Admittedly horror is not my favorite genre but I can absolutely see Dan’s vision and match his passion for this project. We’re constantly pushing each other’s creativity and have proved already to be an effective team. I’ve been promised that if this film is a success we can make a Rom-Com next!”
Dan: “We’re putting everything we have into this project. Kate has assembled an amazing team of talented cast and crew who would love to be involved and were willing to come along to do a promotional photo shoot for the project for free. We also have some incredible locations arranged and a script which will keep people on the edge of their seats throughout, but now we need a bit of help from local businesses and film fans to raise some funds.”
Long Gone follows the story of missing business woman, Heather Langford. Her disappearance a year ago triggered a search by local police and detectives, who also started to disappear. One year on, reporters and detectives still search the wooded area where they were last seen. Missing posters litter the area and a mystery looms within the darkness.
The campaign launched on Wednesday 6th April, 2016 and will run for 30 days in order to raise the £2,750 needed for filming, payroll, editing and distribution of this independent film.

Star of one of our most popular TV soaps, Emmerdale, Dominic Brunt is known in every household here in the UK. On top of this, he's also forging quite a reputation as one of the best indie horror filmmakers in Britain - his directorial debut feature, Before Dawn, was very well received upon its release in 2013 and more recently his second feature, Bait, has accumulated plenty of critical acclaim worldwide.
