Cathedrals will fall, the river will run red... and THE BIRD will be SLAUGHTERED!

WIN part one of the SCOUSE GOTHIC trilogy, ‘The Pool of Life…and Death’!

Four individual stories of characters in present day Liverpool:

A reluctant vampire returns to the city and mourns a past life. A retired hitman waits to commit his last murder. An old woman plans her revenge on her son’s killer. And, a grieving husband contemplates suicide until visited by an angry angel.

As the story progresses we realise all of their stories are somehow interlinked, even though the characters aren’t aware of it themselves. Until the final bloody conclusion…

SCOUSE GOTHIC combines horror and pitch black humour, setting up a vampire vendetta which continues in the final two books, and you can WIN part one RIGHT HERE! Also, author Ian McKinney will throw in a limited edition SCOUSE GOTHIC keyring (pictured below, with the book)!

To win, simply email with the header SCOUSE GOTHIC COMP and include your postal address (sorry, folks, UK entries only).

Please note, because we’re wide open to bribery, you’ll influence the result by following The Slaughtered Bird and author Ian McKinney on Twitter (@SlaughteredBird and @scousegothic) – we’ll check!

The competition deadline is midnight, September 15th, 2017.

A winner will be chosen at random and notified soon after the closing date.
