Cathedrals will fall, the river will run red... and THE BIRD will be SLAUGHTERED!

WATCH Alrik Bursell’s THE RAGE!

We’re honoured here at The Slaughtered Bird to be sent some amazing stuff to cast our eye over before release and sometimes we’re even given exclusives to share with you guys. This is one of those times…

Back in April 2016 we were able to share with you filmmaker Alrik Bursell’s excellent horror short BROTHER. Since then we’ve been impatiently waiting for his next offering – THE RAGE.

“This was a very different movie for me”, explained Alrik recently. “We wanted to challenge ourselves by telling a very emotional story that explores the relationship between sex, anger and violence, and do it primarily with visual storytelling. This is also the first sex scene I ever shot for a movie and I wanted to do something that was powerful and raw and that didn’t look like every other sex scene before it. This film is totally NSFW!”

“Given the climate this might be a hard movie for people to watch but I think it’s more important than ever to be aware of the relationship between sex and violence and the passion that can come out of anger. The movie has a message, some audiences pick up on it and some don’t but I think overall the feeling the movie portrays usually resonates one way or the other.”

Well, what are you waiting for?! WATCH THE RAGE BELOW!

INTERVIEW: David Naughton

David Naughton should need no introduction to horror fans. Back in 1981, An American Werewolf In London had unprepared cinema goers laughing heartily one second and jumping out of their seats in terror the next. Its tale of two young American tourists coming face-to-teeth with a legendary lycanthropic beast perfectly married a genuinely funny script with razor sharp editing, groundbreaking special effects and a flawless cast to create a monster movie that is still many people’s benchmark today Read on...
