Multi-award winning WWII short DELICACY released publicly online

After touring UK and US film festivals DELICACY is finally being released online – and you can watch it right here!

The macabre WWII short, set during the retreat to Dunkirk, tells the story of two British soldier’s trapped in a church cellar, where they must try to survive without resources.

The film was director Helen Lyons-Curran’s graduate film as part of her degree at The Manchester Film school. Since its completion in 2014 the film has won five awards, including Best Student Drama at The 2014 ROYAL TELEVISION SOCIETY North West awards, and BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY at The US HOLLYWOOD INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2015. As well as the wins the film racked up nine more nominations, being recognised for Direction, Performance, and Art & Design. The film has screened throughout the UK, as well as festivals on the other side of the pond in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Florida, and New York.

The film has received a positive industry response with judges from The Royal Television Society North West giving the following feedback…

“Judges agreed the film had a superb plot and amazing sound and lighting, and one of them said that at times it felt like a Hollywood movie.” – RTS North West judges, February 2015

Since the film’s completion Helen has continued to make her own independent projects, the most recent being a genre mix of Brit-Grit and Horror-Noir in ENDS MEAT. The thirty minute movie hits film festivals this summer.
